Respite Care for Family Caregivers
Support for the family, not only the client.
Most care at home is provided by a family member, and most family members never planned for it. It arrives gradually: a few errands, then help with bathing, then being on call every night. It is common to keep going long after it has stopped being sustainable.
Respite care is planned relief. A caregiver takes over for an afternoon, a day, a week or a regular pattern, so the person who normally provides the care can rest, work, attend their own appointments, or simply be somewhere else for a while without worrying.
It is not an admission that family care has failed. It is what makes it possible to continue.
Please note: Respite arrangements are proposed in the client brief and must be confirmed by the owner, including any minimum visit length or notice period, before they are described as guaranteed.
