Personal care is the practical, everyday support that makes it possible to keep living at home when some of the ordinary routines have become difficult or unsafe to manage alone.
It is also the most personal kind of help anyone can receive. Our approach is to work the way the person prefers to be helped — at their pace, with their privacy respected, and without making a routine feel like a procedure. Caregivers are briefed on preferences and routines before they arrive, not after.
Support can be arranged for a few hours in the morning, a block of time during the day, or around a schedule that changes week to week.
What this can include
- Bathing and showering
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting and personal hygiene
- Mobility assistance
- Transfers and positioning
- Meal assistance
- Medication reminders
- Light housekeeping
- Laundry and linen changes
Please note: This is non-clinical support. Medication reminders prompt a client to take medication they have already been prescribed; they do not include administering medication, wound care, injections or other regulated clinical tasks. Which activities may be provided is governed by the agency's Virginia licence and must be confirmed before publication.
